Buttermilk Pie Crust

With just a few simple ingredients, you'll have the perfect flaky pie crust for all of your sweet and savory baking needs. It's sure to become your favorite pie crust!

In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt. Then, add the cold cubed butter.

Using your hands, toss the butter cubes in the flour. Then, press the butter into planks using your fingers.

Continue pressing the butter and tossing it in the flour until you have a variety of butter pieces ranging from pea to walnut half size.

Add the cold buttermilk to the butter and flour mixture. Mix together. If the dough easily stays together when pressed it's good. If not, add a teaspoon more buttermilk until it does.

Dump the dough onto a lightly floured counter. Gently knead the dough by folding it over itself 2 to 3 times. Shape the dough into a ball.

Cut the dough ball in half and shape each half into a disk. Wrap each disk in plastic wrap or damp towels. Chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour before using.
