Easy  Penne Pomodoro

Al dente penne pasta is coated in a homemade tomato and basil sauce for a quick and easy meal everyone will love.

Boil the pasta according to the package directions. Reserve some of the pasta water before draining.

Meanwhile, sauté diced onion and garlic in olive oil until softened.

Add crushed San Marzano-style tomatoes to the pan.

Simmer for 15 minutes or until the sauce has thickened.

Turn off the heat and add the salt and fresh basil to the sauce.

Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to combine.

Pour in some of the reserved pasta water if needed.

Serve warm and enjoy!
