Ham and Cheese  Puff Pastry

Flaky puff pastry twisted up with thinly sliced ham and freshly shredded gruyére cheese then topped with a honey mustard sauce and baked until golden brown and crispy.

Start by making the honey mustard glaze. Set it aside.

Lay out one puff pastry and gently smooth it out with a rolling pin.

Spread half of the shredded cheese on the puff pastry.

Layer on the thinly sliced deli ham. I like to use a honey or maple ham but any ham will do.

Sprinkle the other half of gruyére cheese all over the ham.

Top with the second puff pastry. Try to line up the edges as much as possible.

Using a knife or pizza cutter, cut the stuffed puff pastry into 1 inch sections.

Grab one section on each side and twist the entire strip in opposite directions. Place them onto a lightly oiled rack.

Brush each strip with the honey mustard sauce. If any cheese fell out sprinkle it over the strips.

Bake until golden brown, about 30 minutes. Then, cut the strips down the middle.

Serve warm or at room temp. Enjoy!
