Homemade Pizza Dough

Pizza night is even better when it includes homemade pizza and this easy pizza dough is a great place to start! Chewy, pillowy, and sturdy enough for any toppings you're craving!

Start by proofing the yeast with some sugar in warm water. It should take about 5 minutes to become foamy and active.

Meanwhile, in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook add the flour, sugar, salt, and extra virgin olive oil.

Once the yeast water is frothy, pour it into the bowl with the rest of the ingredients.

Mix the dough on low speed for 7 to 8 minutes or until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Dump the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and continue kneading for another minute shaping the dough into a ball.

Cut the dough into two roughly equal pieces and shape each of them into balls.

Place each dough ball into two bowls coated with more olive oil, turning to coat all sides.

Cover the bowls and allow the dough to rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, about 2 hours.

Once the dough has risen it is ready to turn into any pizza you're craving! Roll it out, add your toppings, and bake at 450 degrees for about 15 to 20 minutes.
