Old Fashioned Peanut Butter and Chocolate Pie

Begin by making the buttermilk pie crust. Mix together flour, sugar, and salt. Then, cut in the butter until it there are pieces ranging from pea-sized to whole cashew-sized.

Add most of the buttermilk and toss to combine. If the dough is still too wet add the rest of the buttermilk. Then, dump the dough out onto the counter and begin pressing it together.

Shape the dough into a disk and wrap in plastic wrap. Place it in the fridge to chill for 20 minutes.

Roll the pie crust out and place in a pie pan. Use your fingers to crimp the edges.

Line the crust with parchment paper and fill with beans or pie weights. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove the parchment paper and beans and bake for abother 15 minutes or until browned and baked through.

Meanwhile, make the chocolate ganache by heating heavy whipping cream and then pouring it over semi-sweet chocolate. Stir to combine.

Spread the ganache in the bottom of the cooled pie crust and chill while prepping the filling and toppings.

Cream together peanut butter, powdered sugar, cream cheese, and heavy whipping cream until smooth and airy. Spread over the ganache layer.

Top with homemade whipped cream, chocolate shavings, and chopped peanuts. Chill for 4 hours or overnight before serving.
