Sugar Plum Crumb Bars

A sweet orange-kissed plum jam filling sandwiched between two buttery flaky layers and topped with a dusting of powdered sugar.

Grease and line a a 9x9 inch baking pan leaving some of the parchment overhanging to make handles. 

In a large bowl, melt the butter. Then, add the flour, sugar, salt, and orange zest. Mix until well combined.

Press half of the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.

Mix the plum jam and orange juice together. Spread the mixture in an even layer over the bottom crust.

Crumble the remaining dough over the top of the jam.

Bake until golden and crispy. Allow the bars to cool in the pan. Then, remove and dust with powdered sugar.

Cut the cooled bars into squares and enjoy!
